The pair are both in excellent condition with no chips cracks or restoration. Wedgwood black basalt pillar vases typically feature neoclassical designs, such as relief ornamentation of classical figures, garlands, or acanthus leaves. They are made of fine grained, unglazed black stoneware (basalt) that Josiah Wedgwood perfected in the 1760s.
