For as long as I've been working with silver, I've been looking for an opaque red gemstone, but did not want to use coral for ethical reasons. I put the idea to bed for years until recently, when I came across this red Burmese jade! I only bought a single strand because I was waiting to be disappointed when they arrived in the post,

it felt like a stunning oversight not to have produced a fox pendant necklace before now

but it's sitting a bit high

and I've long wanted to work on some jewellery designs that pay homage to the better books that have crossed my path
