Summer - Small giftsThe making of this small lamp was inspired by the emergence of summer. I have collected cowparsley flowers from local woodland here in St Leonards. I have then cut them up to make them even more delicate and pressed them into the surface of this small lamp. When the cowparsley comes out in May June time I know that we are heading into the warmer months and the sight of them makes me happy. They are delicate to work with yet create a strong impression

The contrasting darkness and shards of light that come through the branches illuminating the needles and dappled areas of the forest floor

This porcelain picture has been inspired by walks in the woods in Autumn

The glaze colours have been inspired by staring across the glittering water at sunsets far out to sea
